Serengeti National Park

Great Wildebeest Migration Safaris in Serengeti

Serengeti National Park, also known as Serengeti Park in Tanzania, is undeniably the most famous wildlife sanctuary globally, unparalleled for its natural splendor and ecological significance. It boasts the highest density of plains game in Africa.

Located in Northern Tanzania, Serengeti National Park is one of the country's national parks that contribute to the greater Northern tourist area. This region includes notable sites such as Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara National Park, Tarangire National Park, and ultimately, the vast Serengeti National Park.

The name Serengeti derives from the local Maasai term 'Siringet,' which translates to an open endless plain. The park shares borders with Ngorongoro in the south and Maasai Mara in the north, creating the larger Serengeti ecosystem.

Prior to the resettlement of local communities in different areas of Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara, and Karatu regions, these four Northern parks collectively formed the Serengeti National Park.

A safari in Tanzania feels incomplete without a visit to the Serengeti, as it offers a wealth of experiences during your trip to the country. The Serengeti National Park is celebrated not only for the remarkable wildebeest migration but also for its diverse array of flora and fauna contributing to the Serengeti ecosystem.
